Pre-Market Trading
Trading in US stocks before the 9:30 a.m. ET open, on electronic networks rather than the exchange, with far lower volume and wider spreads than the regular session. Prices printed pre-market or after hours often fail to carry into the regular session, especially when the broad market moves the other way.
