GBP/USD: what the data says
A major currency pair known as 'Cable', tracking the British Pound against the US Dollar and highly sensitive to Bank of England policy. The nickname comes from the transatlantic telegraph cable that first carried quotes between London and New York back in the 1800s. It's considered one of the more volatile major pairs, with moves often amplified by UK macro data like inflation and employment figures.
