BAT Rose 25% in Two Bursts. Injective Hit a 40-Day High and Kept Going
Basic Attention Token climbed 25.30% on October 15 in two bursts an afternoon apart, to its highest close in 40 days. Injective gained 11.43% and added another 8% on Friday morning, while bitcoin dipped to $79,800 before recovering.
Two of the day's biggest moves among the larger tokens came in very different shapes. Basic Attention Token (BAT) spent the first 15 hours of October 15 between $0.165 and $0.181 on Binance. Then, in the 15:00 UTC hour, it jumped from $0.177 to $0.197 on $700,000 of volume, four times the hourly norm. A second burst at 18:00 UTC took it from $0.190 to $0.213, and the high of $0.2236 came at 23:00 UTC, 29.8% above Wednesday's close. BAT closed at $0.2159, up 25.30%, its highest close in 40 days, on $10.1 million of volume. By Friday morning it had slipped to about $0.198.
Injective (INJ) moved in one long wave instead. It fell as low as $7.06 around midday UTC, then rose almost without pause from 14:00 UTC, closing at $8.541, up 11.43% and at its highest in 40 days on $26.1 million of volume. The rally continued overnight: INJ reached $9.26 in the 04:00 UTC hour on Friday, another 8% higher.
Starknet (STRK) was the most erratic. It rose 12.57% to $0.08667, but through two separate spikes — to $0.0898 at 10:00 UTC and $0.0987 at 16:00 UTC, each on more than $8 million of hourly volume — both of which faded within the hour. By Friday morning it was back at $0.082. NEAR rose 7.76% to $5.263, its best day since its early-October breakout.
The majors were calm by comparison. Bitcoin dipped to $79,800 in the Asian morning, its lowest price since September 18, then recovered to close at $82,246, up 0.69%; it was trading near $82,100 on Friday morning. Ether rose 0.85% to $2,442 and Solana 1.10% to $105.44. Litecoin gained 3.00% and Uniswap 3.31%.
The difference between BAT's two bursts and Injective's eight-hour climb is the difference between a trade and a trend. Bursts on a few hours of volume tend to be given back, as Wednesday's leaders showed on Thursday; steady buying across sessions, with a higher close followed by a higher open, is the pattern that more often continues.
