Token Unlocks This Week Total $338 Million: Akedo Games Releases $63 Million on Wednesday, LayerZero 23.3 Million Tokens Today
Scheduled token unlocks for October 19 to 25 add up to about $337.6 million, according to CryptoRank data compiled by TokenPost, with the largest day on Wednesday, October 21, at $94.9 million. Akedo Games (AKE) leads with $63.3 million, about 9% of its market value, LayerZero releases 23.28 million ZRO, 3.83% of its circulating supply, on Tuesday, and Plasma and Humanity Protocol unlock a combined $33 million on Saturday. Tokenomist still lists the three largest as pending verification.
The week's unlock calendar is heavier than last week's and more concentrated. CryptoRank data compiled by TokenPost put scheduled token unlocks for October 19 to 25 at about $337.61 million, with the largest single day on Wednesday, October 21, at $94.88 million. The five largest releases by value are Akedo Games (AKE) at $63.26 million, LayerZero (ZRO) at $47.26 million, Plasma (XPL) at $17.51 million, Humanity Protocol (H) at $15.32 million and Orochi Network (ON) at $6.22 million. KuCoin's roundup, which uses slightly different prices, lists AKE at $61.21 million and adds GRAM at $49.42 million on Friday, October 23, aPriori (APR) at $17.4 million the same day, Avalanche at $16.32 million on Saturday, and SoSoValue, SOON and ChainOpera AI at between $5 million and $7 million each.
Size relative to the token matters more than the dollar figure. Measured against market capitalisation, TokenPost puts Orochi Network's unlock at 33.69%, Humanity Protocol's at 12.72%, Akedo Games' at 9.25%, Sapien's at 9.19% and HYPER's at 8.14%. LayerZero's release on Tuesday is 23.28 million ZRO, 3.83% of the 607.45 million tokens already in circulation, of which 10.99 million go to strategic partners, 10.63 million to core contributors and 1.67 million are tokens the team had repurchased; at Tuesday morning's price of about $1.85 on Binance, down 2% in 24 hours, the tranche is worth about $43 million. ZRO had rallied into the date, a pattern recorded in our replay of the token from earlier this month.
Saturday's releases are the ones with the largest share of supply. Plasma unlocks 227.78 million XPL on October 25, 5.02% of its released supply, split between ecosystem and growth (88.89 million), investors (69.44 million) and the team (69.44 million), worth about $17.5 million; it is the first of a monthly series that runs to September 2028. Humanity Protocol releases 266.47 million H the same day, 6.84% of released supply, of which 79.17 million go to early contributors, 55.56 million to investors, 50 million to the ecosystem fund and 42.86 million to identity-verification rewards, worth about $15.3 million. BeInCrypto notes that Tokenomist marks all three of the largest unlocks as pending verification, so the figures remain projections until the tokens move on chain.
The daily unlocks continue underneath: TRUMP releases about $10.84 million a day, Worldcoin about $5.68 million and Morpho about $4.96 million, according to KuCoin, which is why those tokens' charts rarely show an unlock day at all. Worldcoin was nonetheless up 10.7% over the 24 hours to Tuesday morning on $56 million of Binance volume, the busiest of any token on this week's calendar, a reminder that a linear unlock is supply the market has already learned to price.
The pattern this month has been that the largest cliff unlocks move the price before the date rather than on it, and that the recovery, when it comes, takes days rather than hours. Akedo on Wednesday, with 9% of its market value released at once, is the week's test case. The full list, with amounts and allocations, is on our IPOs and token unlocks calendar.
