Walrus Rose 76% at Its Peak on 36 Times Its Usual Volume. Gains Network Gave Back a Quarter

WAL climbed in three waves on October 14, from $0.0385 to $0.0679, and closed up 51.7% on Binance. The day before's big mover, Gains Network, fell 25.4%, and Epic Chain lost 28.7%.

While most of the crypto market fell on October 14, Walrus (WAL), the storage token built on the Sui blockchain, had one of its biggest days. It opened at $0.03851 on Binance and rose in three separate waves:

In the first UTC hour it jumped to $0.0423. Between 05:00 and 10:00 UTC it climbed to $0.0555. And from 16:00 to 21:00 UTC it made a final push to $0.06786, 76.1% above Tuesday's close. It ended the day at $0.05844, up 51.67% but 13.9% below that peak. Binance volume was $42.3 million, about 36 times its average over the previous 20 days. No specific announcement explaining the move had been reported by the time of writing.

The previous day's leader shows what often comes next. Gains Network (GNS) rose 93.5% on October 13 to $0.716. On October 14 it briefly touched $0.799, then fell steadily through the day to close at $0.534, down 25.42%, and slipped to $0.479 early on Thursday. Our October 14 signals included a bearish setup on GNS, with a daily close above $0.858 as the invalidation level; that level was never reached, and the price fell into the $0.47-$0.56 area the setup pointed to.

Other small tokens moved sharply too. Epic Chain (EPIC) fell 28.71% to $0.3131 on 11.5 times its usual volume, after a single hour around 06:00 UTC in which it swung between $0.370 and $0.459. Osmosis (OSMO) rose 19.18%, reversing most of Tuesday's 19% drop.

A spike on 36 times normal volume tells you that many new buyers arrived at once, but not whether they will stay. That is worth keeping in mind with WAL: on Thursday morning it was swinging between $0.053 and $0.066, still well above where it started.
