AltLayer is a rollup-infrastructure token that had spent October between $0.0095 and $0.0105 on Binance, turning over a few million dollars a day, with a monthly unlock due on October 25 according to Tokenomist and no announcement, partnership or listing reported on October 21, 2026; outlets that covered the move afterwards found nothing to attach it to. The pair opened the day at $0.01003, printed $0.01043 in the 05:00 UTC hour and $0.00949 in the 14:00 hour, its low, and was at $0.00964 at 15:45 with the quarter-hour volume at $20,000.

The 16:00 UTC candle, the first of the New York noon hour, was the event. It opened at $0.00964, reached $0.01178 and closed at $0.0116, up 20.3%, on $2.04 million and 38,663 trades, a hundred times the volume of the candle before it. The 16:15 candle went further, to a high of $0.0135 and a close of $0.01292, up 11.3%, on $2.94 million and 57,457 trades, the heaviest quarter-hour of the day; the 16:30 candle rose 6.7% to $0.01379 on $1.97 million; the 16:45 candle reached $0.01444; and the 17:00 candle printed the high of $0.01562 and closed at $0.01521, up 7.5%, on $1.65 million. In seventy-five minutes the token had risen 62% on about $9.8 million of turnover, more than it had traded in the previous week.

The reversal came in the next thirty minutes. The 17:15 candle opened at $0.01521, fell to $0.01367 and closed at $0.01402, down 7.8%, on $1.41 million and 23,326 trades; the 17:30 candle fell a further 6.3% to $0.01311, with a low of $0.01269, 19% below the high. The 17:45 candle steadied at $0.01309 on $0.67 million and the token spent the evening in a range: $0.0132 at 18:00, a dip to $0.01233 in the 19:45 candle on $0.60 million, a second push to $0.01406 in the 21:00 candle, which was sold 5.1% in the next fifteen minutes, and a drift to $0.0130 by midnight. The day closed at about $0.0132, up 32%, on roughly $29 million of volume.

The Asian session took more. The 02:00 UTC candle on October 22 fell 7% to $0.01192 on $1.44 million, the 03:00 hour held $0.0118, the 04:00 candle bounced to $0.01261, and the pair was at $0.0119 at 05:00, 24% below the high and 24% above the 15:45 price the day before. Two things to study. First, the move had no news candle because there was no news; the information was the 38,663 trades of the first candle, and anyone watching the trade count rather than the headline feed saw it before the price had finished. Second, the heaviest candle, 16:15, was the second one, not the top; the top came three candles later on half the volume, which is the Osmosis, Nillion, IOST and Compound pattern this site has logged all month, and the reversal candle, 17:15, was the first one in which the close was below the open. A thin token that trades $29 million in a day after trading $3 million has found new holders; what it does next depends on whether they bought the first candle or the fifth.
