Bitcoin Dipped to $74,888 After the Jobs Report (November 2026)

Bitcoin fell from about $76,100 to $74,888 after the October 2026 jobs report beat forecasts, then recovered within the same 15-minute candle. Replay a data-day shakeout on November 6 in 15-minute steps.

Bitcoin started the US morning of Friday, November 6, near $76,150 on Binance, a day after falling about 7% with technology stocks. At 13:30 UTC the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 165,000 new jobs in October, against about 59,000 expected, raising the odds of a December Fed rate hike.

The release candle traded $32.4 million, about three times the candles before it, and fell from $76,044 to a low of $75,600 before closing at $75,804. Selling continued into the stock market open, with lows of $75,500 at 14:00 UTC and $75,305 at 14:30 UTC.

The flush came in the 15:00 UTC candle, the busiest of the day at $116.4 million across more than 168,000 trades: bitcoin touched $74,888, then closed the same candle at $75,849, close to its open. Buyers had absorbed the selling within 15 minutes.

The rest of the session was quiet, between about $75,300 and $76,070, and bitcoin closed the day at $75,844, almost exactly where it was before the report, while the Nasdaq rose 1.1%. Replay it to see how a long lower wick on heavy volume can mark a shakeout rather than the start of a trend.
