Phala Network Climbed 45% in Five Hours on Twelve Times Its Usual Volume, Then Lost a Third of the Gain Overnight (October 2026)
PHA traded at $0.0505 at 16:15 UTC on October 19, 2026, a day after printing its lowest price in weeks, then rose through five consecutive hours of rising volume to $0.0697 at 21:15, up 38% from the afternoon and 45% above the Monday open. The day's $12.1 million of turnover was twelve times the previous week's average. By 00:45 on Tuesday it was $0.0586, having given back 36% of the move. Replay a one-way climb with no news behind it and the fade that followed.
Phala Network's token had been drifting lower for a week before this one. PHA closed at $0.0482 on Sunday, October 18, 2026 after a low of $0.0463, down from $0.0612 on October 9 and far below the $0.078 it had reached in late September, when it had rallied 168% in seven days on no confirmed catalyst. Daily turnover on Binance had fallen to about $1 million. Monday's European afternoon changed that in a single candle: the 16:30 UTC quarter-hour traded $272,000, ten times the candles before it, and the 16:45 candle rose from $0.0518 to $0.0549 on $910,000 and 7,826 trades, the busiest fifteen minutes the pair had seen in weeks.
What followed was a staircase rather than a spike. The 17:00 hour closed at $0.0579 on $1.67 million, the 18:00 hour at $0.0623 on $2.28 million, the heaviest hour of the day, and the 19:00 and 20:00 hours ground higher to $0.0642 on more than $1.2 million each. The high came in the 21:15 candle at $0.0697, 38% above the 16:15 price and 45% above Monday's open of $0.0482; the day closed at $0.0622, up 29%, on $12.1 million of volume. Coinfomania, reporting the move as it happened, noted that no specific catalyst had been confirmed, which was also true of the September rally.
The fade began within the hour. The 23:30 candle fell from $0.0648 to $0.0621 on $328,000, the 00:30 candle on Tuesday from $0.0639 to $0.0610, and the 00:45 candle to a low of $0.0586, 16% below the high and 36% of the way back to the starting point, with the Tuesday morning volume running at a third of Monday evening's. A second attempt at 03:15, from $0.0603 to $0.0648 on $478,000, failed in the next candle, and the 04:00 quarter-hour dropped to $0.0576 before buyers returned. At 05:00 UTC the price was $0.0634, still 31% above Monday's open but 9% below the high.
The replay is a study in volume without news. Five hours in which each hour's turnover exceeded the whole of the previous day's is the signature of a coordinated bid, whether from a single buyer or a crowd following one, and the fade that follows when the bid stops is proportionate: a third of the gain in three hours. A trader watching the 18:00 hour would have seen the heaviest volume of the day arrive with the price already up 29%; the question the chart asks is whether that is confirmation or exhaustion, and PHA's chart answers it twice, once in September and once here.
