Threshold's T token ended Saturday, October 24, 2026 at $0.00464 after a week of drifting lower, on quarter-hours that traded as little as $5. The 00:00 UTC candle on Sunday rose 43.53% on $1.62 million and 22,314 trades; by 00:30 it had touched $0.00791, 70.5% above the night's starting price. Five hours later it was at $0.00594. Replay a weekend breakout that began on the stroke of midnight.
Threshold Network is the project formed from the merger of Keep Network and NuCypher, best known for tBTC, a bridge that lets bitcoin be used on Ethereum; its T token is used for staking and governance. In October 2026 it was a quiet market. The token had been at $0.00545 on October 10, touched $0.00577 the next day and then slid for two weeks, to a low of $0.0045 on October 24 and a close of $0.00464, on daily turnover of about $80,000 to $120,000. On the last evening of that slide, between 22:00 and 23:45 UTC, the quarter-hour candles traded between $5 and $1,345 each.
The move started in a single candle. The 00:00 UTC quarter-hour on Sunday, October 25, opened at $0.00464, reached $0.00712 and closed at $0.00666, up 43.53%, on $1.62 million and 22,314 trades, more than thirteen times the whole of Saturday's turnover in fifteen minutes. The 00:15 candle added 9.08% to $0.00721 on another $1.59 million, and the 00:30 candle printed the high of $0.00791, 70.5% above the opening price, before closing at $0.00782. No announcement explaining the move was reported, and this replay does not guess at one.
The selling began as soon as the buying slowed. The 00:45 candle fell 4.22% on a third of the volume of the first; the 01:00 candle fell 7.50% and touched $0.00652, 17.6% below the high, and the 01:30 candle bounced 5.07% to $0.00746. From there each hour was lower: −6.25% in the 02:00 hour, −6.67% at 03:00, and a low of $0.00588 in the 05:00 hour, 25.7% below the peak. By 06:00 UTC the token was trading near $0.0066, still about 43% above Saturday's close, on almost $10 million of volume for the day, roughly 82 times the previous day.
Three lessons in this chart. Timing: the breakout came in the first minutes of a new UTC day on a weekend, when order books are thinnest and a single large buyer can move a small token furthest, which is also why the first candle carried the most trades. Shape: the high came 30 minutes after the start, on less than half the volume of the first candle, the usual sign that new buyers were running out. And the arithmetic of chasing: a trader who bought at the 00:30 close paid $0.00782 and was 25% under water five hours later, while the token still showed a 40% gain on the day. Volume of 82 times normal says something is happening; it does not say who will be left holding the token when it stops.
