Triple-Leveraged Korea: +13% on a Monday (November 2026)

KORUB, the token tracking a 3x South Korea ETF, rose 13% from $10.65 to $12.07 during Seoul's session on November 2, 2026, after October chip exports jumped 259% and the Kospi recovered from Friday's 3% fall. Replay leverage working the other way.

KORUB is the Binance token that tracks KORU, an exchange-traded fund designed to return three times the daily move of an MSCI index of South Korean stocks, an index dominated by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Last week showed what that leverage does on the way down: the token touched $14.05 on Wednesday, October 28, then lost 12.07% on Thursday and 7.39% on Friday, when the Kospi fell more than 3% on doubts about the returns on AI spending. It ended Friday at $10.65, and traded quietly between $10.50 and $10.78 over the weekend, on volumes of a few thousand to a hundred thousand dollars an hour.

The weekend brought the news that mattered. On Sunday, November 1, South Korea's trade ministry reported October exports up 93.7% from a year earlier to $115.3 billion, with semiconductor exports up 259% to $56.4 billion, almost half of the total. The first reaction came at 23:00 UTC, 8 a.m. in Seoul: a quarter-hour that dipped to $10.53 and closed at $10.67 on $172,160, the heaviest of the evening, and then a steady climb, to $10.86 before the Kospi opened at 00:00 UTC and $11.11 by 00:15. The Kospi itself opened more than 1% lower, catching up with Friday's US losses, but the token had already priced those on Friday.

The decisive candle came an hour into the session. The 01:00 UTC quarter-hour, 10 a.m. in Seoul, rose 4.85% to $11.68 on $190,426 and 912 trades, its best 15 minutes of the replay, as the index turned positive. Some of the jump was given back within 45 minutes, to a low of $11.32, but buyers returned at 02:00 UTC with a 2.20% candle to $11.62. At 11:20 a.m. in Seoul the Kospi was up 1.63% at 5,823.9, The Korea Times reported, with SK Hynix up 2.47%, Samsung Electronics 0.89% and Hanwha Aerospace 6.75%.

The afternoon was a grind higher. The token reached $11.94 at 04:15 UTC, traded $250,533 in the 05:00 quarter-hour, the heaviest of the replay, and touched $12.07 at 05:30, 13.3% above Friday's close, before ending the replay at $11.90, up 11.7%. Over the same hours the unleveraged Korea ETF token rose about 4.4%, from about $153 to a high of $160.05, so KORUB delivered roughly the three times it promises. The replay is a reminder of the asymmetry: after last week's 28% drop from Wednesday's peak to Friday's low, even a 13% rebound leaves a triple-leveraged holder far below where they started, and the next test for chip exports is the first-ten-days figure for November, due on November 11.
