Triple-Leveraged Chips: −31% in Under a Day (October 2026)
SOXLB, the token tracking a 3x leveraged semiconductor ETF, fell from $102.42 to $70.37 between Thursday's US close and Friday afternoon on October 29–30, 2026, after Intel's forecast. A late bounce left it 24.7% down. Replay what triple leverage does on a 9% day for chips.
SOXLB is the Binance token that tracks SOXL, an exchange-traded fund designed to return three times the daily move of an index of US semiconductor stocks. On Thursday, October 29, it had a busy but balanced day: it dipped to $98.08 as the US session opened, rallied to $105.45 in the 15:00 UTC hour, and ended the 19:00 hour, the last before the US close, at $102.42. Chip stocks had already been volatile all week, and the token had touched $109.11 on Wednesday evening before Microsoft's results took it back to about $101.
The break came with the earnings. Intel, Amazon and Coinbase reported after the US close at 20:00 UTC, and Intel's guidance for the fourth quarter, revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion against about $17.07 billion expected, hit the whole sector. The 20:00 hour opened at $102.46, fell to $89.49 and closed at $91.27, down 10.92% on $3.0 million and 15,373 trades, the busiest hour of the replay. The selling continued overnight: $87.80 by 22:00, then a 3.88% drop in the midnight hour to $85.11 and a low of $83.54 at 01:00 UTC, 18.4% below Thursday's close, while Asian chip stocks traded lower.
The European morning brought no relief. The token drifted from about $87 at 04:00 UTC to $82.16 by the 12:00 hour, as pre-market quotes showed Intel down by a quarter. The US open at 13:30 UTC turned a slide into a rout. The 14:00 hour fell 3.39% to $80.02, the 15:00 hour 2.94% to $77.68, the 16:00 hour 3.71% to $74.80 and the 17:00 hour 2.49% to $72.87, and the 18:00 hour reached $70.37, 31.3% below Thursday's close. Intel closed down 28.6%, AMD, Qualcomm and Sandisk each fell more than 10%, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF lost 9.1% on the day, CNBC reported.
The last full hour of the session turned. The 19:00 UTC candle rose 6.89% from $72.16 to $77.13 on $1.5 million, as buyers covered into the close, and the token ended the replay at $78.10, 23.7% below Thursday's close. The arithmetic is the lesson: a 9.1% fall in the underlying chip index, tripled, is about 27%, and that is roughly what holders lost in a single session. Leveraged funds reset their exposure every day, so after a fall like this the fund needs a rise of about 31% just to get back to where it started, and a choppy sideways market keeps eroding its value even when the index ends flat.
