Intel's Guidance Shock: −17% in 15 Minutes (October 2026)
Binance's tokenised Intel fell 17.4% in the first quarter-hour after the company's results on October 29, 2026, from $92.15 to $76.11, and kept sliding to $69.67 overnight. The quarter beat; the fourth-quarter forecast did not. Replay a guidance-driven gap that never filled.
Intel's shares went into their third-quarter report near the top of a strong year. INTCB, the Binance token that tracks them, opened the window at $92.52 on Thursday, October 29, traded between $91.13 and $93.54 through the US session, a day when Alphabet's record fall dragged the Nasdaq down 1.38%, and closed the 19:45 UTC quarter-hour at $92.17 on $202,600. Intel's shares closed at $92.07.
The report arrived at 20:00 UTC and the token fell in one candle. The 20:00 quarter-hour opened at $92.15, touched $92.46, then dropped to $71.35 and closed at $76.11, down 17.41% on $4.74 million and 42,745 trades, more than seven times the busiest quarter-hour of the afternoon. The reported quarter was good: adjusted earnings of $0.52 a share, revenue of $16.51 billion and data-centre revenue up nearly 80% from a year earlier to $7.3 billion. The forecast was not: fourth-quarter revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion, adjusted earnings of about $0.25 against roughly $0.43 expected, and gross margin narrowing to 38% from 44.1%, which Intel tied to PC weakness, memory shortages and a $300 million hit from a plant shutdown in Israel.
Buyers tried once. The 20:15 candle rose 1.98% to $77.60 on $1.18 million, and the 20:30 quarter-hour reached $79.19, 11% above the first candle's low, before closing at $77.02. That was the high of the evening. From 21:00 UTC, as the earnings call ran, the token fell in most quarter-hours: 1.96% to $74.51 in the 21:15 candle on $1.32 million, $72.54 by 21:45 and $70.83 by 23:00. The low of the replay, $69.67, came in the 01:45 UTC candle on Friday, 24.4% below the pre-report close.
The Asian session brought no recovery, only steady volume. Between 00:00 and 06:00 UTC the token stayed between $69.67 and $71.80 while trading $400,000 to $1.16 million every quarter-hour, and it ended the replay at $70.59, 23.4% below Thursday afternoon; reported after-hours quotes for the shares ranged from about $72.44 to a 23% decline. More than $32 million changed hands in INTCB after the report. The shape is typical of a guidance shock: the gap opens on the forecast, the one rebound fails during the call, and the price keeps grinding lower as estimates for the next quarter are cut.
