The Tokenised Nasdaq 100 Fell 3.4%, and Most of It Before Wall Street Opened (October 2026)
QQQB, Binance's token tracking the Invesco QQQ fund, slid from $727.48 on October 21, 2026 to $702.94 a day and a half later. More than half of that drop happened between Wednesday's after-hours earnings and Thursday's US open, while Asia sold chip stocks. Replay the Nasdaq 100 trading through the night.
On Wednesday, October 21, the QQQ fund that tracks the Nasdaq 100 closed at $725.20, and QQQB, the token that follows it on Binance, peaked at $727.48 in the 18:30 UTC quarter-hour. The evening brought a mixed batch of results after 20:00 UTC: Meta rose about 3% in extended trading on its revenue outlook, Tesla was little changed after its report, and Lam Research, which sells equipment to chipmakers, fell about 6% despite a record quarter and guidance above consensus. A market that had spent October worrying about how the AI build-out would be paid for heard Lam's number as the one that mattered.
The token traded through the night in small steps. It was at $719.94 by 23:00 UTC, $716.56 by 03:00 as Asian markets opened lower, and $712.21 in the 08:00 hour, when Europe arrived and the token traded $1.48 million, its busiest hour before Wall Street. Seoul's Kospi closed down 3.67% on Thursday, its third move of more than 3% in three sessions, with Lam's guidance as the trigger. By 13:30 UTC, just before the US open, QQQB was near $714, about 1.9% below its Wednesday peak: about 55% of the move in this replay had already happened. QQQ opened at $713.61, a gap of 1.6% that the token had priced to within a dollar.
The regular session added the rest. The 14:00 UTC hour fell 0.79% to $709.41, the steepest hour in the replay; the token touched $705.41 by 16:00 and $703.00 in the 19:00 hour. The cross-asset picture was unusual: Brent settled at $113.17 after attacks in Saudi Arabia, bitcoin fell about 4% as $474 million of crypto futures were liquidated, and yet the 10-year Treasury yield fell about 20 basis points as money went to bonds rather than gold. QQQ closed at $704.47, down 2.86%, after a low of $701.90, and the token's own low, $702.94, came at midnight UTC, 3.37% below Wednesday's high.
No single quarter-hour in this replay moved more than 0.38%, and none of the busiest candles was a large one; this was a decline by accumulation. The lesson is about where to look. For a US index, the overnight token is a live, if thin, estimate of the next open, and on October 22 it gave an accurate one at 08:00 UTC, five and a half hours before the bell. On Friday, October 23, QQQ closed flat at $704.40, and it rose 1.1% to $712.20 on Monday, October 26, with Alphabet and Microsoft reporting two days later.
