Reddit's Search Warning: −29% in a Day (October 2026)
Tokenised Reddit fell 29% on October 29–30, 2026, from $129.96 to about $92, on a weak revenue forecast and a warning about Google traffic. Only 17 percentage points of that came after hours; the US session added the rest. Replay a gap that the next morning's downgrades made deeper.
RDDTB, the Binance token that tracks Reddit's shares, is thinly traded: on the morning of Thursday, October 29, most hours changed hands for a few hundred dollars. It opened the replay at $130.69, dipped to $127.40 in the 13:00 UTC hour as the US session began on a day when Alphabet's record fall pulled the Nasdaq down 1.38%, and touched $126.75 in the 19:00 hour before closing the 19:45 quarter-hour at $129.96. Reddit's shares closed at $129.60, down 3.79%. In the last hour before the report the token traded $28,987.
The results came at 20:00 UTC, and the quarter itself was strong: revenue of $895 million, up 53% from a year earlier and above the $877.2 million expected, and earnings of $1.40 a share against $1.33. The forecast was not. Reddit guided fourth-quarter revenue to $1.00 billion to $1.03 billion, below estimates of about $1.05 billion, and US daily active users fell 2% from a year earlier to 50.7 million. The 20:00 quarter-hour opened at $130.06, dropped to $113.13 and closed at $120.94, down 7.01% on $154,704; the 20:15 candle lost another 3.64% to $116.20 on $187,625, the busiest quarter-hour of the replay; and the 20:30 candle reached $105.37, 18.9% below the close, before the hour ended at $108.00, down 16.96% on $419,155, about fourteen times the hour before.
The earnings call explained why the guidance mattered more than the beat. Chief executive Steve Huffman said referrals from search engines had fallen by more than 1 million a week on average in October and that daily active uniques could fall by a low double-digit percentage in the fourth quarter, and Reddit said it would test a mandatory logged-in experience to depend less on Google. Overnight the token barely moved, between $104.75 and $107.04. The European morning brought the next leg: the 08:00 UTC hour on Friday fell 3.82% to $101.34, with a low of $98.79, and during Friday Citizens cut the stock to Market Perform and KeyBanc to Sector Weight; Investing.com reported the shares down about 23% before the open, at $99.80.
The regular session did not bring buyers. The 13:30 UTC quarter-hour opened at $100.40, swung between $95.64 and $101.91 and closed at $97.20 on $23,625, and from there the token fell in most hours: $95.87 by the end of the 14:00 hour, $93.31 at 15:00, $91.58 at 16:00 and a low of $89.70 in the 18:00 hour, 31% below Thursday evening, while the Nasdaq slid 2.86% on Intel's forecast. Reddit's shares closed at $91.73, down 29.22%, their worst day since the 2024 listing, and the token was at $91.87 at the close, 29.3% below Thursday evening. The after-hours drop to $108 had been only about 60% of the final move; when a sell-off rests on a forecast about traffic, the analysts who rewrite their models the next morning can take the price a long way past the first reaction.
