Tokenised Meta Rose 7% in Thirty Minutes on Its Third-Quarter Report, Then Gave Back Two-Thirds of It in Ninety (October 2026)

METAB, the tokenised Meta share on Binance, was $698.50 when the US market closed at 20:00 UTC on October 21, 2026, after the stock had ended the regular session up 0.47% at $697.52. Meta's report landed minutes later: revenue up 26% to $64.6 billion, a fourth-quarter guide of $73 to $76 billion and a $9.89 billion legal charge. The 20:00 candle traded $0.46 million and 11,669 trades, dipping to $690.76 before closing at $718.06, the 20:30 candle printed the high of $748.00, up 7.1%, and the 21:00 candle fell to $717.61. By 22:00 the pair was at $713, up 2%, and it held $706 to $715 through the Asian morning. Meta went into its report on October 21, 2026 as the quietest of the large technology stocks: down about 2% on the week, up 0.47% on the day at $697.52, with options pricing a move of 7% to 8% and the market divided between a bull case built on advertising growth and a bear case built on the $41 billion of quarterly capital spending expected. The tokenised pair tracked the shares through the New York session, with the 13:00 UTC opening candle rising from $692.4 to a high of $712.5 on $0.15 million as the market rallied, a drift back to $707 by 18:00 and a pre-report wobble: the 19:15 candle dipped to $691.24 and recovered to $704.84 on 2,206 trades, and the 19:45 candle closed at $698.54.

The report was published inside the 20:00 UTC quarter-hour and the first reaction was a sell. The candle opened at $698.50 and fell to $690.76, 1.1% below the close, as the headline earnings of $3.83 a share, cut by the $9.89 billion settlement charge, crossed the tape; then it reversed, to a high of $732.45 and a close of $718.06, up 2.8%, on $0.46 million and 11,669 trades, twenty times the trades of any quarter-hour that day, as the revenue of $64.6 billion, the $7.40 of earnings excluding the charge and the fourth-quarter guide of $73 to $76 billion were read. The 20:15 candle rose to $725.39 and the 20:30 candle, on $0.28 million, printed the high of $748.00 and closed at $740.17, 7.1% above the close: the Class C share dividend, which has the effect of a two-for-one split, was being priced as a catalyst in its own right. The whole 20:00 hour traded $0.81 million and 14,876 trades.

Then the buyers ran out. The 20:45 candle closed at $734.10, the 21:00 candle fell 1.6% to a low of $717.61 and a close of $723.15 as the first after-hours quotes from US outlets settled at a gain of 3% to 5% rather than 7%, the 21:30 candle slipped to $720.83, and the 22:00 candle fell to $711.05 and closed at $713.28, up 2.1% from the close and 4.7% below the high. From there the pair did nothing: $715.46 in the 23:00 candle, $714.73 at 00:00 UTC, $706.2 in the 02:00 hour as Asian chip stocks fell, $708.4 at 04:00 and $706.5 at 05:00, about 1.1% above the regular-session close.

The shape to remember is a spike and a shelf. Two-thirds of the reaction was given back within ninety minutes, and the level the pair settled on, roughly 1% to 2% above the close, was reached by 22:00 UTC and held for seven hours, which is the price the regular session on Thursday inherits at 9:30 a.m. in New York. The $748 print was real and tradeable for about thirty minutes, on a tenth of the volume of the first candle. Compare it with the SPCXB replay of the previous night, when the tokenised SpaceX climbed for eight hours in a staircase with no sellers: same hour, same exchange, same category of news, and the difference between a stock whose report answered the question and a stock whose report, a $9.9 billion charge and a $35 billion capital bill alongside 26% growth, left the market to decide what it had learned.
