BNB After the Reopening, Korea at Support, Apple Waits
Three theoretical setups for Monday, November 2: BNB after Binance's first day of withdrawals passed without a run, the Korea fund EWY back at the floor of its October range as Seoul rebounds, and Apple into its results after the close.
BNB · BNB — Bullish, Short-term (days). BNB fell 8.1% on October 29, from $759.85 to $698.46, on about $414 million of Binance spot volume as the exchange halted withdrawals after a hack it put at $6.3 billion, and touched $680.00 at the low. It has not made a lower low since: the October 30 dip stopped at $682.16, Saturday's range held between $698.79 and $710.83 on only $53 million of volume, and Sunday, the first day of reopened withdrawals, closed up 1.24% at $712.69. That is the test that mattered for the exchange's own token. Customers took out $4.65 billion in the first 9.5 hours, but net outflows of $3.64 billion were about 2.1% of the $171 billion Binance held, and the exchange said withdrawal volumes were slowing. A token that holds its post-shock base while the feared exit fails to materialise usually recovers part of the gap toward the pre-event level, here $742 to $760. The risks are the second phase of withdrawals, which covers smaller tokens still being sourced, and the full proof of reserves due on November 2 or 3. A daily close below $698.79, Saturday's low, would invalidate the setup.
EWY · iShares MSCI South Korea ETF — Bullish, Short-term (days). EWY fell 5.5% on Friday, October 30, to $152.89, giving back the whole of the October 27-28 rally to $165.91 as US chip stocks sank on Intel's forecast. Friday's low of $150.69 sits on the floor that has held all month: $149.71 on October 15, $149.92 on October 16 and $148.30 on October 22. Seoul answered on Monday, November 2: the Kospi rose about 2.7% to near 5,886, SK Hynix about 4.5% and Samsung Electronics about 2.2%, after Sunday's data showed October chip exports up 259% to $56.4 billion. The fund trades well below its 20-day average near $163.84 and its 50-day near $175.36, so this is a bounce from range support inside a downtrend rather than a trend change, and the first target is the middle of the range around $157 to $160. The risks are a second leg of the AI sell-off in New York, where AMD and Qualcomm report this week, and a won that weakens if the dollar rallies on a strong payrolls report on Friday. A daily close below $148.30, the October low, would invalidate the setup.
AAPL · Apple Inc. — Neutral, Short-term (days). Apple reports fiscal fourth-quarter results after the close on Monday, November 2, with consensus at about $1.99 a share and $113.4 billion of revenue, and options pricing a move of about 4.25% either way. The stock closed Friday at $344.63, 1.2% below Thursday's record close of $348.91, after a session in which it fell as low as $334.35 with the rest of big tech and then recovered most of the drop, a sign that buyers are still defending it. Two forces pull in opposite directions. Apple has beaten earnings estimates for eight straight quarters, spends little on AI data centres and has the iPhone Duo, on back order into January, to put into December-quarter guidance; against that, the July guidance implied a gross margin sliding toward 46% to 47% on memory prices, Goldman Sachs expects a revenue outlook below consensus, and the shares fell 7.4% after the last report despite a beat. At about 40 times trailing earnings the outlook will decide the move. The levels define the next move rather than a view: a daily close above $352.04, just above the October 23 intraday high, would put the stock in new territory, while a close below $334.35, Friday's low, would mean the tech sell-off has reached the one megacap it had spared.
