Apple After the Margin Guide, Oracle at $116, Oil Two-Way

Three theoretical setups for Tuesday, November 3: Apple after a beat that came with a weaker margin outlook, Oracle sitting just above the price of its new share sale, and US crude inside the range of Monday's 7.4% fall.

AAPL · Apple Inc. — Bearish, Short-term (days). Apple beat on its fiscal fourth quarter, with revenue up 12% to $114.48 billion and earnings of $2.10 a share, but guided the December-quarter gross margin to 45% to 46%, about two points below the 47.9% just reported, and revenue growth to 7% to 10%. The shares had already fallen 1.83% to $338.32 in Monday's session, below the October 20 low of $338.70; after the call they traded as low as $323.48 on Binance's tokenised Apple and ended the evening near $328.81 on Nasdaq, under Friday's low of $334.35, which had been the floor of last week's sell-off. A beat followed by a lower margin outlook usually takes several sessions to digest as analysts cut their estimates for next year, and the stock still carries a premium multiple after a 24% gain this year. The risks are a market-wide rebound in tech after the midterms and buyers who see a two-point margin dip as temporary. A daily close above $343.80, Monday's high, would invalidate the setup.

ORCL · Oracle Corporation — Bullish, Short-term (days). Oracle fell 8.8% to $119.22 on Monday after selling 86.2 million new shares at $116, 11.2% below Friday's close, alongside $10 billion of bonds paying 7% to 8.65%. The stock has now given back all of last Wednesday's 10.7% jump and more, and Monday's low of $118.43 stopped just above the offering price. A freshly priced block often acts as a floor for a few sessions: the institutions that bought at $116 have little reason to sell below it, and the supply overhang that pressed the stock before the deal is gone once it is placed. Stephens upgraded the shares to overweight with a $213 target on Monday. The first target is the gap left on Monday, between that day's high of $126.50 and Friday's low of $129.00. The risks are a second leg in the AI sell-off, where Oracle trades as a leveraged bet on data-centre demand, and any sign that the bond deal strained its credit rating. A daily close below $116, the offering price, would invalidate the setup.

CL=F · WTI Crude Oil Futures (December) — Neutral, Short-term (days). US crude fell 7.4% on Monday to settle at $96.46, its biggest daily drop since July 27, after President Trump said Iran wants a deal and he would give diplomacy more time, then rose 0.7% to about $97.17 in Asian trading after a report that US forces had struck Iran's Qeshm Island. Monday's range, $95.15 to $102.75, now holds both stories: the top is where the market priced continued escalation risk before Monday, the bottom is the level reached when a settlement looked closest. With the midterm elections on Tuesday, Trump's pledge not to strike before the vote about to expire and weekly US inventory figures due on Wednesday, the next headline could push either way, and recent weeks have shown oil reversing sharply on settlement rumours. The levels define the next move rather than a view: a daily close above $102.75 would mean the risk premium is being rebuilt, while a close below $95.15 would mean the market is pricing a deal.
